Scoops is Free Again in Honor of DizzyPad

scoops2

The title almost says it all. Scoops temporarily drops to free. This is one of the best tilt based games from the early days of the App Store.

If you do not already have this wonderful game you should definitely pick it up.

But there’s more to this post than just that Scoops is currently free. Dizzypad has dropped to $.99. I reviewed this game when it was first released and for $.99 you should definitely get it.

DizzyPad, My New Time Sucker

Dizzy PadNibleBit (developer of Scoops) has done it again!  Their newest game, DizzyPad is a great casual game that’s easy to play and really hard to put down. The object is to get your frog as far as possible.  The lilly pads spin and you tap to jump.  The only controls are a simple tap, yet the challenge is great as the further you make it, the faster the pads spin and the longer the distances are.  The graphics are superb, the sounds are fitting.  I’m a fan of Dizzypad.

If you like other NimbleBit games, like Scoops, SkyBurger, or Moon Drop, then I say it’s worth the $1.99.  If you’re not a “big” spender on the App Store, this is definitely worth $.99 if it ever drops in price.

Dizzy Pad: [ App Store ] $1.99

Bouncedown – Keep the Blue Blob from Dying

Bouncdown

Bouncedown is a “falling down” game that’s free.  The goal is to keep your blue blob alive as long as possible by keeping him in the middle of the screen.  The platforms on the screen slowly move up toward the spikes at the top, so you must tilt your device to move the blue blob off the platform so he falls down to the next one.  If you miss the platforms below you will fall into the fire at the bottom and it’s game over.

Bouncedown2As the game progresses the speed of the platforms increase. There are also multiple different platforms that will cause you grief.  Some are conveyor belts forcing you one way or the other, some are trampolines causing you to bounce up, and others disappear underneath you when you land on them.

This is not a great game that you’ll be addicted to for hours, but for free it’s pretty fun.  My only recommendation is to turn off the tilt controls and turn on the touch to move.  With touch controls the game is a lot more responsive therefore it’s much easy to play.

If you like the concept of Bouncedown but want a much more intense version with online play against others, I would definitely recommend Cliffed [$.99].  It’s totally worth picking up.

Koala Dartz is Temporarily Free

Go get Koala Darts while it’s free. This is a fun balloon popping game similar to Bloons.

Choose the angle and power of your dart and then let it go. You only have a limited amount of darts per level to clear the balloons. If you like problem solving, this game is for you. It’s fun figuring out how to pass each level and rewarding once you get it.

Pigrush is Kinda Fun

Pigrush

If you’re looking for another free game to add to you collection, Pigrush isn’t a bad game.  It’s not the best game out there, but it’s not the worst either.  The game consists of a pig running (with nice graphics) and you must tap the screen at different levels to jump at different heights over the gaps in the ground.  If you miss-time the jump or height then down you’ll fall. The object of the game is to run as far as possible.

There are also small fires you must jump. Either or you have to pick up a fireman’s hat.  Then you you’ll put out the fire as you hit it.

If you want some mindless entertainment for a bit or a game for your kids, pick up Pigrush.  If you want a really good game, then look into Soosiz [App Store]  or Angry Birds [App Store].

Pigrush: [App Store] Free at time of this post.
