Mr. Space!! Is a quick pickup and play game with a basic premise. The object is to move left and right and stop in the correct spot so that when the ceiling comes crashing down you are in a space big enough so that you don’t get squished.
That’s all there is to this game, but as you continue it gets faster and faster. And the gaps aren’t as noticeable.
It’s definitely worth picking up for done quick bursts of fun in line or on the bathroom (you know you play games on the toilet).
The Hero is a cartoony style flying game starring a Mr. Incredible look-a-like. This game was released on the App Store for $1.99. Early reviews are coming in looking good.
The gameplay looks to be similar to Mini Squadron with more depth and character. I’ll have more info and a short review soon.
I think what sold me the most is the fact that to regain health you give high fives and you have to catch babies that are falling out of buildings. Now that sounds like a hero to me!
The Hero: [ App Store ] $1.99 at time of this post.
Check out these three games that are free today. They are all worth getting at their normal price, let alone free. Get them today before the prices go back up.
AlphaBattle [App Store] – A timed word game. Make the longest words possible before the vowels and consonants collide.
Uniwar [App Store] – A well made turn-based strategy game. Regularly $2.99
Trigger Happy Christmas [App Store] – Take revenge as Santa and kill as many elves as you can before they steal all the presents and ruin Christmas. This is a really fun side-scrolling shooter.
They are all good games for their genre and I’d recommend them all.
Stick-Fu from Clickgamer.com is a throwback to the old arcade games of the early 90s. And I mean this is a good way. If you enjoyed Double Dragon, Bad Dudes or other similar games you’ll enjoy Stick-Fu. It’s a blast to play.
In this game, enemy stick figures attack you as your travel through the city. You must punch, kick and dodge your way to combo points to earn a special attack. And just like the old side scrolling arcade games from the 90s, at the end of the level you must face a boss. In Stick-Fu, the boss is just a bigger stick figure.
I wish there were more than five environments and there seem to be a few glitches here and there (nothing major or game stopping though) but the game is still really fun. It’s definitely a button masher as you dodge and punch the enemies and unleash your special attacks, including a shotgun, bo staff, and even spikes from the ground.
I highly recommend downloading the lite version and trying this game out. If you like fighting side scrollers, you might as well just get the full version. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
Stick-Fu Lite: [App Store] Free at time of this review
