Stop and Go, The Best Traffic Management Game Out There

sg-395

Stop and Go a traffic management game, from Randym Apps is one of those games that came out  a week ago on Thursday or Friday  and totally got lost in the craziness of all the new apps that were released by Apple.  There were over 300 games released on Friday alone and a total of 1,400 apps released in one day.  It’s taken a bit to find the real gems that were released, but Stop and Go is definitely one of them.

Like most (if not all) traffic management games your goal is to allow as many cars to pass through the map as possible by turning the traffic lights from red to green.  The difference between this game and others like it is that the cars will crash into each other.  If the cars crash the game is over.  What makes it even more challenging is that if the cars at a red light get backed up off the screen, the cars behind will eventually push them into the intersection possibly into oncoming traffic.

The graphics are simple and well drawn making it easy to keep an eye on all the different element on the screen at once.  Also, the length and speeds of the cars add to the already fun challenge of keeping traffic flowing.  Another unique challenge to this game is that cars can run out of gas causing backups and throwing off your groove.  You must drag your finger from the gas can to the stopped car to get it going again.

There are no sound effects of music of any kind.  The developers claim that there intention is for players to listen to their own music while playing.

If you’re looking for a good time management app this is the one to get.  It has Open Feint built in for tracking online leaders and achievements, un-lockable maps, and an addictive nature to it that will keep you playing for quite some time.

All in all, Stop and Go is a nice change to the other traffic management games out there and I’m having a blast playing it.  I wish it had it’s own music, however let’s be honest, I’m just going to play my own music over it anyway.  Check it out.  It’s a fun game. And with the online leader-boards and unique challenges it’s definitely worth the low price. You won’t be disappointed in this one!

Stop & Go Review Coming Soon

I have a confession to make.  I haven’t been able to put up a review lately because I’ve been playing all the great games that have come out recently.  The one I was playing the most is Stop and Go.

Pajatzo is Free

pajatzo

Pajatzo is free today.  It’s a pachinko type game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  I recommend picking this up.  It’s a basic game where the goal is to get as high as a score as possible by getting your coins to drop in the proper columns.

The physics feel spot on and it’s eerily addicting for a game where the only thing you do is swipe your finger.  Which reminds me.  Make sure you use the swipe feature instead of the nudge feature.  I had way better luck that way.

Get it soon, while it’s free.  That way if it’s not for you you won’t be out any money.

Battle of Pirate Bay is Free Today

screen-shot-2009-09-19-at-40257-pm

In honor of “Talk Like a Pirate” day today, The Battle of Pirate Bay is Free.

This is a pretty fun line drawing game.  You control three ships by drawing their paths with the goal of defending your castle from an endless onslaught of enemy ships.   It’s definitely worth picking up for free.

Bongo Fever Free For A Limited Time

photoCheck out Bongo Fever.  This is a basic game with nice graphics.  The object of the game is to continue to fill your cauldron with food by bouncing it across the screen with your bongo.  The difficulty comes when non-edible items are thrown your way and multiple food items are thrown your way at the same time.  You can avoid the non-edible food or angle your bongo to bounce it off the screen.

It’s pretty fun for a free game, but there’s not a lot of depth.  I do have to say that the attention to detail in this game is great.  For a simple concept the developers put in a lot of time into the background elements.  As the game progresses, the sun sets, clouds move across the sky and lights even turn on around your island.
