I’m really liking freaking Inkies from Hungry Game Productions. This tilt-based shooter is an original game. And that is a very difficult thing for any app to accomplish with the 200,000 apps that currently reside in the app store. It’s not only unique in it’s concept, but it’s artwork sound design and also the way you play the game is incredibly unique.

The artwork is completely original. I love each individual character that you’re trying to shoot in the game. And the book backgrounds that you’re protecting work great.

The music and sound effects fit perfectly and are not annoying like other games with “cutesy” sound effects. Lastly, the gameplay is so original it’s almost hard to explain. You have six color buttons, three on each side. They are primary colors so you have red, blue, & yellow. To fire you must touch two of the buttons, one on each side, at the same time.

You have to shoot the Inkies off the page with a color that matches what they are. Red for the red Inky, Blue for a blue inky, Etc…
Eventually the Inkies come in other colors such as green and orange or carry different colored shields and you must use a combination of the buttons on the side to shoot take them out.

This is a fun shooter that incorporates the accelerometer. The controls are spot for tilting and it is quite fun as you try to hunt down the little characters and blast them off the page
The only negative to the game is that occasionally I wanted to leave one finger down and rapidly fire with the other hand. There was a short lag here and there while playing like this, but not enough to cause me to be upset and/or to put the game down. I just learned to play around it by just tapping both buttons at the same time. I’m assuming this is the original way the game was intended to be played.

All in all because of the originality, cute gameplay and fun addicting nature. I highly recommend picking up Freaking Inkies.
