Plunderland is a Must Have App

Plunderland from JohnnyTwoShoes is going to be huge! You want this game. Take the best parts of Rolando, Angry Birds and Pocket God and put them into one game and you get Plunderland.

The concept if the game is that you are the ghost captain of a pirate ship in which you control by tilting. Attack other ships, islanders and more in this fun adventure.

The physics engine is great. The characters are cute and entertaining. And the gameplay is unique. Pull back to fire, pick up enemies and cannonballs and fling them. See the YouTube video below for a better idea of gameplay.

This game is a must have iPhone game that will soon be getting a lot of attention. I’m predicting it will be in the top ten apps by the end of the weekend.

‘Smoke Monster’ is a Lost Snake Game

Yes that title is referring to the TV series Lost! However this game is not made by the creators of Lost or ABC. Then why do I say it’s a Lost game if the app description doesn’t mention it at all?

Well let’s see…
1. You are a Smoke Monster going around killing people
2. You’re in the jungle
3. An airplane flies over that looks like it’s about to crash.
4. There are polar bears in the jungle
5. There are sonar barricades that you can’t pass through
6. The music is a perfect takeoff of the Lost score.

Just to name a few reason.

So if you’re a fan of the game snake, you might like this fun variation. However if you’re a true Lost fan, this game is a ‘must have’

For $.99 there’s no reason not to have this Lost…er…snake game.

Hipstamatic Review – The #1 Photography App

Hipstamatic is an amazing photography app for the iPhone. There’s a reason this app is the number one app in the photography section.

It’s because it takes great photos with multiple types of filters. Now this is Short App Reviews so I won’t get in the all details, but a couple things of note, it does not add filters to previously taken photos. You have to take the photos within the app itself. And Hipstamatic comes with only a few select “lenses” or filters and also a few types of paper and flashes. I’m loving the built in ones and they’re totally worth the money but you can get more with in app purchases. I’m sure I’ll be picking them up soon.

This is a great app for adding a unique look to all your photographs. I highly, highly recommend Hipstamatic.

Crush The Castle is Free Again

If you missed this game that is similar to Angry Birds last time it was free, you’re in luck. It’s free again.

You’ll want to download this game as soon as possible, before the price goes back up. It’s worth at least $1.99, but why pay when you can get it for free.

Here’s what I posted last time it was free:

Crush the Castle is a great game. It doesn’t have the cuteness or charm of Angry Birds, but it is very addictive. Instead of using birds and a slingshot, you use a trebuchet and boulders. Fling the boulders to take down the castles, or more importantly, the king, queen and knights.

I recommend getting this game.

‘Freaking Inkies’ A Unique Shooter Worth Owning

Read this review for a promo code offer.

I’m really liking freaking Inkies from Hungry Game Productions. This tilt-based shooter is an original game. And that is a very difficult thing for any app to accomplish with the 200,000 apps that currently reside in the app store. It’s not only unique in it’s concept, but it’s artwork sound design and also the way you play the game is incredibly unique.

The artwork is completely original. I love each individual character that you’re trying to shoot in the game. And the book backgrounds that you’re protecting work great.

The music and sound effects fit perfectly and are not annoying like other games with “cutesy” sound effects. Lastly, the gameplay is so original it’s almost hard to explain. You have six color buttons, three on each side. They are primary colors so you have red, blue, & yellow. To fire you must touch two of the buttons, one on each side, at the same time.

You have to shoot the Inkies off the page with a color that matches what they are. Red for the red Inky, Blue for a blue inky, Etc…

Eventually the Inkies come in other colors such as green and orange or carry different colored shields and you must use a combination of the buttons on the side to shoot take them out.

This is a fun shooter that incorporates the accelerometer. The controls are spot for tilting and it is quite fun as you try to hunt down the little characters and blast them off the page

The only negative to the game is that occasionally I wanted to leave one finger down and rapidly fire with the other hand. There was a short lag here and there while playing like this, but not enough to cause me to be upset and/or to put the game down. I just learned to play around it by just tapping both buttons at the same time. I’m assuming this is the original way the game was intended to be played.

All in all because of the originality, cute gameplay and fun addicting nature. I highly recommend picking up Freaking Inkies.
